Debt Free Empire
Paper & Prosperity · Debt-Payoff System

Pay off debt with a plan you can actually follow.

Debt payoff is the process of eliminating what you owe by paying down balances in a set order until you are debt free. One simple payoff process, three ways to work it: an app for your phone, a spreadsheet for planning, and printables for your fridge or binder.

Progress does not have to be perfect to be meaningful.

What’s in the system

The same debt-payoff process, in the format that fits the moment.

The App

Track balances, payments, and progress anywhere. Includes a Debt Payoff Tracker and Debt Simulator.

The Spreadsheet

Lay out every debt, compare strategies, and plan your payments on a larger screen.

The Printables

Print-and-fill pages to keep your payoff plan and progress visible every day.

How does the system work?

Three parts, one routine.

1 · List your debts

Add every balance, minimum payment, and interest rate to the app or spreadsheet.

2 · Pick your strategy

Choose Snowball or Avalanche and let the Debt Simulator show how extra payments may change your timeline.

3 · Track and adjust

Log payments each week, update balances, and keep your printable tracker where you can see it.

Please note: The app and spreadsheet do not automatically sync. They follow the same debt-payoff process and are designed to be used together.

A simple weekly routine

About fifteen minutes, once a week.

  1. Log it. Record the week’s payments and spending.
  2. Update it. Refresh each balance in the app or spreadsheet.
  3. Check it. Review your payoff progress and the simulator estimate.
  4. Mark it. Color in your printable tracker. Small wins count.

Frequently asked questions

Do the app and the spreadsheet sync automatically?

No. The spreadsheet and printables do not sync with the app or with anything else. They follow the same debt-payoff process and are designed to be used together, so you enter or update your numbers in each one yourself. (The app itself syncs between your own devices through iCloud.)

Do I need both the app and the spreadsheet?

No. Either one works on its own. Using both gives you a quick view on your phone and a bigger view for planning.

Which payoff strategy does it use?

The app supports both Snowball and Avalanche strategies, and the Debt Simulator lets you see how different payment amounts may change your estimated payoff timeline.

Is the app free?

Yes. The Paper & Prosperity app is completely free on the web, the App Store, and Google Play.

Where do I get the spreadsheet and printables?

The Paper & Prosperity spreadsheet and printables are sold on the Paper & Prosperity Etsy shop. Use the buttons on this page to go straight there.

Is this financial advice?

No. Paper & Prosperity provides organizational and educational tools only. Estimates depend on the information you enter.

Which debt payoff method should I choose?

Debt payoff plans use one of two common orders. With the snowball method you pay minimums on everything, then put every extra dollar toward the smallest balance. Each paid-off debt is a quick win, which helps many people stay motivated.

With the avalanche method you put extra money toward the debt with the highest interest rate first. It usually costs less in total interest, but the first payoff can take longer.

Neither is wrong. The best method is the one you will actually keep doing. Try both in the free debt payoff calculator to see how your debt-free date changes, then track your chosen plan in the app.
